Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Board Waxing/ Tarting up - London

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hola todas

Im off to St Anton in January and want my board tip top and ready to go. It was waxed and had the edges done in Les Arcs last year and then I did two more weeks on it. Im sure I should have had something done to it but I havent!

Anyway we will be hitting the snow as soon as we arrive so a resort service is out the window. Does anyone know anywhere in London that I could take it?

You garage?

Its really not rocket science.

If your not confident to do this yourself then get it done on the first night in the resort.
A two week old wax should be enough to get you through a day on the hill.

Think most seasonairs might get there board waxed once a month (if they have the cash).

If you can come over Staines/ashford way, I'd be happy to show you what to do and help you do them. In the meantime I suggest you take a look at www.skituning.co.uk

tuxpoo, I live on the 5th floor of an old block in London - what's a garage? NehNeh Thank you for the advice - I wanted it done before we go as I think it may have been a bit mistreated on the last trip (oops) and I really dont think I can do it myself. I might see if I can drop it in after the mooserwirt on Sunday and pick it up before lessons on monday Very Happy

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Nadenoodle, Where abouts is the block? You need minimal kit and about an hour to do it yourself to a far better state than the shop will. You can do it in your living room (OL you will need bin bags and a hoover!! Basic edge guide/files/wax/iron can be had for under £50, so 2 services and its paid for itself

Also means you can service them while you are away so they are always tuned and waxed

I have all the kit over near heathrow, can easily show you how to do it or do it for you. Better yet, go to Jon (Spyderjon) and learn from the best (I did)

Nadenoodlee, where in london? I live in Blackheath and know of 2 shops, one in Greenwich and one in Forest Hill - there are losts of places around london, but if you would like the address for one of these two - let me know.

I'd agree with the above snowHead - 'do it yourself' but I've neve gotten around to doing it Confused

Nadenoodlee, Just noticed your in SW london. A quick search on the web gives me this link from Gumtree, for a place in Balham

I can't vouch for the quality though!!!

SW6 - 47 Degrees on Fulham Road will do it. They do my skis and will take requests, e.g. I make them do the edges by hand to my spec.

I think they have a board-specific shop just on NKR, by Putney Bridge Tube.
