Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Munich-Garmisch Daily Commute!!! Good Hotels close to Munich Railway Station

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi I m not really sure where I should have posted this message but my problem is that there are six of us - five of whom are really set on skiing in Garmisch. My OH is a shopaholic so I reckon she'll spend her time window shopping in Munich Basically we cant find accommodation in Garmisch (26th-30th December) so our plan is to commute each morning from Munich by train.Does this make sense Can anyone recommend a family friendly hotel close to munich's main railway station.Would there be a hotel with a pool/spa close by??? (We have two kids 10/14 years old BTW)Many Thanks

Commuting from Munich to Garmisch would be feasible but would mean a pretty early start to make the day worthwhile (and would be rather tiring). I think you can probably find specially priced tickets for skiers
(see e.g. http://www.zugspitze.de/en/winter/index.htm ). However, Munich isn't the best base for a ski holiday Puzzled

There are several hotels near the Munich station. The only one which comes immediately to mind is the Mercure, where friends of mine stayed last summer. I've no idea whether it has a pool.
