Poster: A snowHead
|
We are a group of 7 adults and 7 kids (so far) planning to go to Serfaus 19 to 28 March 2010.
Looked at hotels on www.loewebaer.com , wich looks perfect with the kids,
looking for anybody who can advise which of the two will be the best situated for the slopes.
Any recommendation for a transport company that does Zurich to Serfaus will also be much appreciated.

lizski, Get the train to Landeck (?) direct from Zurich, then taxi from there? Otherwise try www.innsbruck-taxi.com or we used these guys to get to Stuben this year rietzler-reisen@aon.at I've found that you're cheaper getting transport outwith resort. Don't know about transfers from Zurich I'm afraid as I've never flown there. Those hotels look ideal - we had looked into for last year's trip, but was a bit skint so went to Stuben instead. Enjoy

boabski, thanks, have asked on serfaus website for transport quote - was going to go with train, but group now up to 15, then a coach starts to make sense.
cathy, hotels look really good for kids, but have emailed them and Baer seems closer to Murmli kids slope, they say you can ski home if snow is good, so might rather go for Baer than Lion. Will let everyone know once we have been.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

lizski, great. The only address I could see on their website was on Untere Dorfstrasse. We went to Serfaus last year and are going again this year, about the week before you. Just ask if you need any info - although my knowledge of anything related to kids will be practically zero!

Hi Lizski, take a look at the Kinder Hotel St Zeno, we work a good deal with Serfaus and whilst their website is not going to blow you away, the hotel impressive and stylish, is ski-in, has great kids facilities and is good value. That would be my pick for you.

ineedsnow, St Zeno looks really good, do you have any knowledge of Loewebaer? As you say, difficult to judge by websites and all those wide-angled photos some use...
Have asked them for a quote and seem good value.

cathy, glad you're going again. We'd love to, but meeting up with various friends is pulling us to Lech and Ischgl (actually Galtuer) this year. Will have to suffer Enjoy Serfaus - fabulous place!

ineedsnow, St Zeno has been great so far, only place that will accommodate us for extra day either side - cannot thank you enough for the suggestion. Now just to get everyone together and book!

We stayed at the Kinder hotel St Zeno a couple of years ago, it was great. Easily ski in ski out and the walk to town was not too bad, even quite enjoyable in the sunshine! Very quick to get home at the end of the day as you just ski down the toboggan run to within 1 foot of the boot room door.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

They say 600m from lifts, and provide shuttle to lifts in morning. As it is an all-inclusive, will just need to go into town for browsing and strolling- should be ok?

We only went into town after skiing not in the evening as a) we were all inclusive in the hotel and b) the town was dead in the evening. It is an easy stroll back after skiing.
They do provide transport to the lifts but we never used it as you could ski down which was more convenient.

You know it makes sense.
|
Also doiing all-inclusive, and rather walk to town in shoes than be in town and walk far to lifts.
sounds great if we can ski to lifts,
just wondering why they dont say so on website, as it should be a good selling point.

Maybe you can only do it when the snow is good. When we went there was plenty of snow and we just skied down the tobbogan run to the lifts.
