Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Biggest Snowboard Bag?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm going away in a couple of weeks for the first trip of the season and need a new bag that will carry a board, ski's (sorry) and all my gear.

I borrowed a LOKKER one from my brother last year and fancy getting the Dakine High Roller in a 180.

What is the biggest bag out there as I want to pack everything into it?

Cheers

Watch your weight limits. Was at the snow show this year looking for a new board bag and one of the exhibitors had a really nice whole luggage system which all zipped together into a big coffin, but it weighed in at 7 kilos so thats about a 3rd of your allowance on an average budget euro flight.

I can fit myself in a DaKine High Roller 180 and do up the zip. Could be a cheap way of taking the wife along.

I get board and skis plus all boots, bindings and a week's clothes in my Burton wheelie locker. Either one of these or the Dakine High Roller will be fine. The max for a single bag, with ski/board transport is normally 32kg.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

A tad over the baggage allowance? Laughing

Boredsurfing, er, just under twice what you're allowed for a board bag, in fact. So much for that plan then. Laughing

A triple ski bag is one of the biggest. I have taken three boards and a pair of skis in one. It is only when I saw people busting the straps and their backs that I realised it wasn't such a good idea... Sad

Jumping Jack Flash, unless you need to take long skis too, I'd get a bag closer to the length of your board. Your board becomes the spine of the bag and a longer one may have a foot of sag at end if its too long. I put a 159 board in a 164 bag and that works fine.

bar shaker, I bought a snowboard bag in Jackson Hole a couple of years ago. It had a zipped up extension (about a foot). Extended it's just about big enough for my 175cm Swoard. My point being that length adjustable bags exist to avoid that 'flappy' bit.
