Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Private v Group lessons

I had it all sorted - kids in a group lesson for 2 hours a day with a non-ESF ski school. I just had an email back from them saying that they won't be running kids group lessons that week.

So, the options now seem to be private 1 hour a day lessons with the non-ESF school for about the same price as the 2 hour group lessons, group lessons with ESF (but they'll make my 4 year old stay in the kindergarden even though she can ski) or private lessons with ESF which would be cheaper than the non-ESF private lessons (I haven't asked if they would teach the 4 and 6 year old together).

What would those of you with experience of such things do - I only ever had Interski lessons with school and this was a million or so years ago.

Maybe I should add that both kids have a weeks experience although didn't have lessons (we did have an ex ski instructor with us though) They can both snowplough turn, stop, avoid idiots etc. They did Sno cubs at MK last year and will be doing Sno bears before we go. snowHead

Skimummy, No local experience but many of the complaints about ESF relate to over large class sizes and mixed language teaching. If it were myself I would go for ESF privates, many of their instructors are excellent.

Ideally try and get someone who is fluent in English. Dont get fobbed off with someone who speaks just a little English as it makes the tuition much harder to understand. I ran a ski school in VErbier for 7 years so have had loads of experience within this area and can honestly say language and a good understanding are the most important factor, followed by the experience level of the instructor. I would also suggest trying a private lesson or two first as you will be able to achieve more than in a group typically. Very Happy
