Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I was at a Stöckli test day a couple of weeks back, I didn't try the Stormrider as I've something in that line already although with more time I'd be curious. Mrs Ise and I did try some others though and they really impressed me, the construction quality was superb and the price, at least here, is pretty good.

mistermouse, Used a pair for a week on an off piste holiday in Obergurgl last year. Good off piste, good on prepared piste but they went into terminal judder on the ice, by ice I mean the stuff that was slush the day before but was got at by the piste basher before it froze! and looked good NehNeh i.e. corduroy Laughing However with this in mind overall a good ski. But beat hands down by my new Elan 666's

mistermouse, I have Stockli Stormrider AT's. Yes, I know, I know, I will come to that ...

Stormrider AT's have been a top expert freeride ski for 3 or 4 years now. Real freeride. GS through windblown hard pack, carry on through crud, dance down a few moguls and into some powder. A race ski for the whole mountain. Not to be confused with what other manufacturer's call freeride or all mountain to get people to buy them.

Trouble was, they weren't as brilliant in the soft, fluffy stuff as they were brilliant everywhere else. So they widend it and created a new version called XL which is now great in the deeps.

A word of caution. They are quite stiff (stockli trend) because they are not aimed at mass market but expert skiers so you get what you put in. And if you don't put much in they will sort you out.

Looking at the post by Dypcdiver, the all round quality described is provided by the AT. The XL is more for back country and touring for the agressive, fast rider.
