Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
Hi, I'm back again. We might have to stay in Salzburg (anyone viewing my other posts will understand my predicament!) and I'm wondering about the ski bus that seems to leave Salzburg every day. Are there ski resorts very close to Salzburg (if so , how close). Does anyone have any experience of this service. In my mind I have a picture of being on a bus for hours and hours on end. Thanks for any information. cheers
Obviously
A snowHead
isn't a real person

Raadstadt is about an hr on the train, nice little resort and pretty cheap plus part of the Ski Amade area
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

While I know nothing of that service in particular, there are quite a few ski resorts within an hour of Salzburg - Schladming being one which springs to mind.
And even the Ski Welt is only 1.5 hours.

Bus no 260 leaves Salzburg airport and you can be in Zell Am See in well under 2 hrs for just 11 euros each way.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

This is a long report from someone who used the Salzburg Snow Shuttle:

the ski amade is about 45mins away,
look around here:
http://www.planai.at/
i know that have a bus service that links all the resorts in the ski amade which is huge apparently. (i hope so cos thats where i am this season..)
either on that site or another, maybe the offical ska amade they talk about "the ease" of going ski for the day then heading back to salzburg for bars and restaurants.
