Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Are they worth buying ?

If so, is it ok to wear the ankle length pants under ski boots ?

IncogSkiSno, would recommend the skins but would not recommend the ankle length ones under your boots.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

IncogSkiSno, I'd buy 3/4s, wouldn't want to put the full length in, might be uncomfortable Shocked

There have been a few threads on Skins if you search about.

IncogSkiSno, I've got the full length ones, and I have them under socks inside my boots. They're not too painful for me that way.

They were very painful when trying to push them up over my knee, to see if there was any damage after a fall.

I am intending to get another pair, but the 3/4 length ones this time.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

IncogSkiSno, see here for some discussion, including recommendation of a cheaper equivalent. I too would be inclined to go for the 3/4 ones, so as not to mess up your boot fit.

IncogSkiSno, wear them and have for years now... full length and inside socks... the snow skins are designed so no seams on critical areas and the seams are flat anyway... and they themselves are quite thin... I'd think(in fact I know I do have that isssue) that fluid from altitude/flying/pms etc would cause more swelling than the room the snowskin will ever take up... Maybe you will need to undo the micro adjustment on the boot by a couple fo turns...

I have issues with wearing a graduated compression garment that does not cover the full lower limb length -I would expect more issues with fluid not returning past the sudden increase in gradient...

I spoke to Michael Milton about this - he also wears his inside his sock(singular obviously) and had the other leg modified... (His sister Jenny and I were discussing this and Michael was kind enough to chat to me about it - he is sponsored by skins) He said the same as me re the compression... if you really cannot tolerate the full length then cut them - which gives you the other length... but I'd start with full...

BTW - I find the smooth surface actually decreases rubbing on my skin compared with thermals etc...
