Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi guys,
Last year I went skiboarding in Austria on a pair of snowblades - I loved the easy turns but didn't like the lack of speed.
Now I would like to buy a new pair of skiboards - After reviewing some boards I am thinking to buy the Summit Marauder 125 cm skiboards.
Can someone give me their opnion on these boards and if you know boards that will give more speed, I would love to hear about it.
Thanks for your comments guys!

Furthermore, I am doubting to buy some skipoles with this equipment. I am an intermediate skier. Would it be usefull to go down with skipoles or is it better to go down without them?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

skipoles are not much use on the slopes but very helpful in the lift queues! Last year i was getting some filthy looks as i helplessly rammed into the back of people everytime there was a slight gradient.
get the poles or be a social outcast

I have the head big easy 99's, skied them for a week and didn't find the limit when pointing straight down Austrian reds. No idea how your boards will compare to the heads tho

The Summit Marauder are 125 cm. Is it naïve of me to think that they are automatically faster than a pair of 99 centimer's?

Are the Icelantic scouts up for consideration? I know a number of will have skied those.

the marauders are fantastic boards, but i reckon you would prefer the summit customs over the marauders. 110cm instead of 125cm, but they retain the skiboard feel which in my oppinion the marauders dont have.

If you are going to go down the skiboard route don't get poles. The only people who get riddiculed more from the lifts than bladers is bladers with poles. The whole point of ski boards or blades or whatever is that you can lean much further into much tighter turns and poles won't be a help in getting down so low
