Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Salzburg Super Ski Card - is it for real?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Calling all local Austrian snowHeads and those in the know!

I'm looking at buying my season card now and have been wavering between the Amadé region card and the Kitzbühel Super Ski. One cost €510 the other €425.

Now I seem to have stumbled on the above one which is €510 in the pre-season sales (before 5th Dec) and seems to cover both areas plus a few others.

Is it for real or have I misunderstood things somehow?

http://www.salzburgsuperskicard.com/ - this is the web site, only in German I'm afraid, but that shouldn't bother those who live here!

You bet ya it's correct Sue - it bloody well better be, as I'm banking on it wink

Here's the website in English - http://www.salzburgsuperskicard.com/winter/ab/eng/index.html

If it's not correct, I'll be complaining to the Austrian Trading Standards as the website seems to be pretty clear. Unless of course some Brit in Austria cocked up the website translation.......I'll get m'coat! Shocked wink

Had a look at the website - looks like you understood ok...
We had a similar double take moment when we stumbled across the Snowcard Tirol (www.snowcard.tirol.at). €590 for 80 ski areas around Tirol (€439 if you're an Einheimisch Razz ) and is valid from 01.10.09 - 15.05.10
Sounds too good to be true...

It's for real. An absolute bargain considering how big an area is covered.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Sleipnir, SaraJ, Elizabeth B, Well that's me sorted! Definitely going for that one as it covers all my major skiing areas. And only 510 Euros - after 12 day trips I'll be quids in! Most of the day cards seem to be around 40+ Euros as far as I can work out.

Now anyone know if they do a trans-Austria pass and I'll be well happy Laughing Laughing Laughing

Samerberg Sue, it's a really good pass and a great deal, but not sure if you have noticed it doesn't seem to include Skiwelt/Wilder Kaiser Brixental, which the Kitzbuheler Alpen pass does.

If this isn't important to you then no problem!

As I understand it whilst Zell am Ziller itself is geographically in the Tirol some of the ski terrain is actually in the Salzburgerland. Presumably that why they qualify to join in this scheme. There would appear to be a few other areas on the periphery of the Salzburgerland where this might also be the case? if you think about it they would be daft not to as it probably brings in some additional income?

Deliaskis, Still umming and arhing to be honest as Skiwelt/Wilder Kaiser is my nearest area only 30 minutes door to door so it is important to be honest.

Looks like it will probably be the Kitzbühler Super Alpen Pass then! And maybe the Salzburger normal season - still only comes to 900 something which is less than some of the prices being quoted for the bigger French areas.

Thought it was too good to be true Crying or Very sad

Samerberg Sue, I thought I had remembered you posting about Skiwelt so it did ring alarm bells that it wasn't covered...

Look at it this way, if you get both passes, you're just going to have to make sure you get out there and use them enough to warrant it. Nothing like feeling obliged to go skiing snowHead !

Enjoy, I'm very envious of your proxomity to all that skiing.
