In addition to being the world’s longest undersea railway tunnel, the Eurotunnel network is also setting records in terms of its operations. More than 270 trains run each day, representing one train every 3 minutes at peak times. The Truck Shuttles carry up to 30 heavy goods vehicles, each weighing up to 44 tonnes. These 800-metre long trains run at 140 kph. The Passenger Shuttles travel at the same speed and transport up to 120 cars and 12 coaches. The Eurostar trains travel at 160 kph below the sea. Some of the Freight Shuttles weigh in at 2,500 tonnes.

they can't run at 140 kph for long - it's not very far. It's certainly a very smooth ride.
If some of your Clubcard vouchers (the ones Tesco send you) end up in danger of expiring you can buy something extremely cheap with them, and get the "change" credited to your account. I get more each year than I need for 4 or 5 channel crossings. I always reserve at the most expensive time of day, by the way - in voucher terms it costs very little more and makes it unlikely that you'd have to pay for travelling at a different time. I rarely travel on the train I initially book.
I am cross, having arrived home from France to find a promo with 200 points for having a Tesco flu jab. We had two, just before we went away, and before we had that offer. Must telephone the store and see if we can get them retrospectively.
Beware - collecting Tesco points can become compulsive.

pam w, don't you qualify for free flu jabs from your GP, why were you paying for them from Tesco? I don't think it is right to offer incentives such as Clubcard points for flu jabs !!

Helen Beaumont, well, the OH qualifies because of his chronic health problems, and I have managed to squeeze in at the end, most years, when all priorities are done. However, this year we were going to be in France for each of the Saturdays they were doing them - and they weren't starting till after we left. Given the OH's problems and the fact that he had only just had an angioplasty, I thought it was best to pay the few quid to get them done at Tesco.
You may be right about not offering incentives for flu jabs. Whatever next? Air Miles for a vasectomy?
