Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone fancy Flaine 26th Dec at UCPA?

Poster: A snowHead
For the last 2 seasons I've been hooked on going off piste. Unfortunately none of my mates have caught the bug so for the last 2 years I've gone on my own to UCPA in Chamonix and Serre Che. Both fantastic skiing and great people but last year I was in a group of 7 french guys and the guide obviously spoke mainly French. Not a real problem but it'd be better to have a few like-minded brits to have a laugh with.

The accommodation in Chamonix was a bit basic, Serre Che was a bit better but I've heard that the accommodation at Flaine is the best of the lot. I think it's mainly rooms for 4 people with en suite.

If we go through Action-Outdoors the cost is £650 including lift pass, equipment (got brand new Bandits last year), full board and all tuition/guide.

You don't have to do the off-piste course, they run a variety of on piste levels and also boarding.

Flights to Geneva are not extortionate and a transfer to Flaine should be no trouble.

jzBun, you can get rooms for 2 at Flaine, for a modest supplement. It will be super-crowded at Flaine (and elsewhere). Is that the only week you can do?

Hi donovan7405

Thanks for the offer, the only problem is that they don't run an off-piste course from Flaine Altair and, as I mentioned, it's the only reason I go to UCPA. If you do an of piste week with a guide anywhere else, prices start at about £1200.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Hi Pam W

I'm trying my best to get time off to go the following week (which would obviously be much quieter). But I'm going to Kaprun the week before xmas and I'll be heading off somewhere in late Feb so it's tricky. But I'll keep you posted.
