Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

 Poster: A snowHead

I was on Boat of Garten golf course in brilliant sunshine with blue skies on Sunday and the following picture was the backdrop.

Any of this rain over night been the white stuff up there? Forecasts say it's warmed up again so guessing most has been washed away! Sad

Great news. That looks quite low down for early October - can anybody identify the piste? The same happened on the first weekend of October last year - with skiing underway at Cairngorm on the 1st of November. Fingers crossed eh?!

The lift in the Sun's photo is the West Wall Poma, the photo was taken from the viewing terrace of the Ptarmigan Restaurant (at 3600ft), the snow fences going off pic to the left below the walkers is the start of the M2. The snow line first thing was down to approximately 2900ft.

Temperature has been yo-yoing around, first snow on the 1st, milder on the 2nd, second snow on the 3rd, milder yesterday, now cooler again this evening - but currently dry over the Central Highlands. If any of the showers to the NW make it through to the 'Gorms they would fall as snow on the tops at least. More yo-yoing in the coming days (fantastic proper meteorological term that!).

Interesting that the first snow should fall on the same day 2 years running... *touches large wooden desk*. snowHead

There are some more photos: http://www.winterhighland.info/pix/pixalbum.php?pix_id=554 and a few more in the forum in the CairnGorm Snow thread.
