So... did we ever establish whether, under the new rules, with a European economy ticket you could take:
just a ski bag
+
hand luggage
and avoid paying the supplement?
(on the basis that the rule says something like your skis count towards your free allowance of 1 checked bag so if your skis are your only checked bag, they go free? right???)

Arno, yip, I always do that and I did just that in April to Val D last season with BA and I see no reason why it will be different with the new rules, plus I do it with Easy jet and the weight allowances stand separately from (the charge for) the number of bags you check in.
