After visiting CEM's fine emporium of new shiny boots, and working out mine are 6 years old, I wondered how often other snowheads change their boots, and the reasoning behind it? Ie x amount of weeks on snow, x years or just 'cos I fancied a change
Cheers,
greg

kitenski, when they smell too bad. About 120 days.
Current pair were going to be swapped for the correct (doh!) size this year but I think I'll just live with them.

alpine boots - as little as possible
touring boots - these are developing quite a bit so I find my trigger finger getting itchy for a new pair. current ones probably have about 30 days on them

I had my last pair for 17 years, which involved one full season and seven week-long ski trips. I only junked them because the clip broke and I had gaffa tape holding them together. The time had definitely arrived for new boots. I hope the new ones last 17 years!

Every 2 or 3 years as they fall apart, for another pair in size 8 / 26.5 or 27.
