Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I was on one of these in January this year (with Inghams). It was great value - the equipment hire was good, the tuition was with ESF if I remember it right (3 hours in the morning everyday), but the lift pass was a Courchevel one rather than a 3 Valley pass. However, it's very unlikely for any beginners needing a 3 Valley pass though.
It was 610 pounds for a week in a nice half board chalet in Courchevel 1850 and flight from Gatwick with transfer to the mountain. For us beginners in the group, that's all we paid for the holiday (plus lunches and one dinner) but our friends in the group still had to pay for the lift pass and equipment hire, which really cost a lot more.

cppoon, welcome to Snowheads! snowHead
Good to hear from someone who's actually been on one of these holidays - I saw the offer last year & did wonder if it was as good as it looked, or if there were 'hidden extras'...
Glad you enjoyed it (well, it sounds like you enjoyed it Smile ). Are you going skiing again next season?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I ve a friend at work who wants to start skiing. I ve suggested he looks at this offer. Any suggestion on resort ?. Inghams are offering Alpbach, Ellmau, Seefeld, Söll, Zell am See in Austria and Courchevel, La Plagne, Morzine, Tignes, Val Thorens in France. I guess the Austrian ones give a village location with apres ski but a trek to the slopes, while the French ones give door step skiing convenience.

There wasn't "hidden extras" when we had this deal last year (I think that's because the freshers week is not directly run by individual TO). However, the non-beginner friends had to pay extra for the boot bags (and equipments and lift passes).
It was such a good deal that we almost feel guilty about it. When I was in my class group (got separated from my group because I asked for some slightly more challenging terrain), other people complained about their tour operator didn't mention about the freshers week (as they also have a few beginners in the group) and got pretty upset when hearing about it from other groups in their hotel.

I had a really good time. We were extremely lucky - I don't think I could have a better introduction to ski holiday - good deal, comfortable chalet, interesting varying weather, lots of snow, fun skiing, beautiful scenary, fresh mountain air, really good food (our chalet host was a very good cook - the three course dinners were better than what I got from some decent London restaurants). Everyone in our group enjoyed our time there a great deal.

Yes, I'm going skiing again next season (the freshers week served its purpose). I've booked a trip to Flaine during Christmas week .. as I'm so worry about snow condition this early in the season I'm researching for historical snow record in Flaine during that time; This is how I ended up in this forum.
