Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Found a great source of wisdom on all kinds of things, ski-related and not Very Happy
Found a way of spending inordinate amounts of time on the laptop, when not working (and sometimes when I AM working Embarassed )
Found all I have ever needed to know, and plenty I will never need to know, about helmets, ski boots in hand luggage and driving to the Alps (the latter has been very useful and the information meant it was much easier when we actually did the drive, than it would have been beforehand)

Thank You All Very Happy

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person
Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person
Upsides:

A huge mine of useful information on all things snow related or otherwise
Fab holidays and days out
A gaggle of lovely virtual friends
A group of new real friends for life

Downsides:

Too much time spent on t'internet
I think I need a new liver ("coffee" Michelle?)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

As a relative newbie to the skiing world I have learnt a lot from just reading the posts on this forum, especially about the different resorts. It has kept me sane through the summer!

Just glad my employer doesn't check how much time I spend on here. Smile

Got a great pair of skis for £150, a bargain. Have a much broader knowledge of alpine resorts now- loads I'd never heard of (including the ubiquitous L* R*****e). Unfortunately increasing knowledge doesn't help with making decisions! Wastes lots of my time, but unfortunately work seem to have blacklisted the site (luckily they don't know about winterhighland which is sometimes a resource I need to check regularly...)

OK - serious answer now.
I've met a lot of people whom I would regard now as friends.
I've met virtually another load of people who also seem great on the whole (one or two exceptions rolling eyes )
I've been on 3 EoSBs and 1 PSB and had a ball, and some truly excellent intruction from three different instructors.

I'm glad I discovered snowHead s (even if my wife is not so sure wink )

 snowHeads are a friendly bunch.
snowHeads are a friendly bunch.
I had the great fortune of joining the site 10 minutes before the slopes closed for business.
I therefore have learned very little extra about the lovely world of skiing. I have however have found a great place to basically have a laugh with likeminded people and take a bit of the stress and boredom out of life.
It does seem to fit in well with my job as a dentist. What else am i going to do while i am sat for an hour and a half during a whitening?
I am looking forward to spending a bit of time on the Piste and actually meeting more snowHead in real life.
