It's August, slow at work so suggestions for fantasy ski resort composition:
The Vertical of La Grave
The Vibe of Red Mountain
The Scandinavian girls of Chambre Neuf or the Yucatan

I'd take La Grave with the snow of Alta (but stable from an avvy point of view) top to bottom
Went to a locals' end of season do last season and was surprised to find a reasonable contingent of hotties esp given LG's hairy ar5ed reputation

The vertical of La Grave
The Alaskans on snow / snow making
The Canadians on avvi control
The Italians pisting, coffee making and food
The Swiss running the lifts
The Austrians on ski instruction
The British running the pubs
The Americans manning the base / ticket office
The French on "mountain welcome" ( )

Axsman and I discussed this at great length at one of the Bashes last year. The general idea was that there should be Austrian apres-ski; and on the slopes there should be karaoke, bars, hot-tubs* etc etc. The rest we deemed to be fairly irrelevent in the grand scheme of things.
*Hot-tubs to be manned by sem-naked, bikini-clad, super foxy young ladies, to keep the atmosphere just right. In a T20 cricket way...
PS. Funnily enough, with the start of this thread, only a few days ago I downloaded Ski Resort Extreme (the third of the Ski Resort Tycoon series). Not quite as good as I had hoped, but does give the opportunity to let one's imagination run wild (within budgetary constraints...)

Minor change of order:
1) Snow (Alta)
2) Terrain (La Grave)
The rest are nice-to-have but not essential.

Based on my experience:

Lifts and Snow quality of Lech
Apres Ski and Gemütlichheid of St. Anton
Prices of St. Sorlin d'Arves
Off piste of Tignes

seriously tho.... I am glad that these places are flawed..
It keeps them underpopulated...or less populated..
Can you imagine LG selling more tickets...??
I don't know what their economics are but I like the fact that they don't think they will ever replace the life.. or can afford to
It works just fine, IMV...
