I am just wondering whether anyone has ever booked with Alpine Elements (www.alpineelements.co.uk) and if so, were they ok? I am limited as to who I can book with, as I am travelling alone and specifically want to stay in a catered chalet in La Plagne. This is the only place where I have found I can book a chalet with a single room, everywhere else I have to incur a single occupancy charge which is huge.
Their website looks impressive, but I wasn't too sure about the sales person I have just spoken to, he wasn't very helpful! Maybe it was just him, but I haven't heard of Alpine Elements before so I would like some kind of reassurance before I go ahead and book with them!

pinkskier, I have a feeling that there was a long thread here regarding the company - try a quick search to find it

pinkskier, Try these for catered chalets in La Plagne. I used them twice last season for singles person bookings and got good deals both times, very helpful staff. If you have a specific date give them a call

thanks for the info. unfortunately i've already tried laplagnechalets - they were extremely helpful (and in fact i booked with them last year) but unfortunately there were no single rooms available. i have looked at the other threads on alpine elements, not too positive! but, it seems the only place i am going to get a single room at a reasonable price so i may have to just go for it. as i have been to la plagne before, i know exactly where the chalets are so i know exactly what i'm letting myself in for. it appears that most peoples gripes related to size of rooms and location, but as that is not an issue in this case i think i will go ahead. i will of course report back on my experience of alpine elements!!!!

There are an awful lot of bad stories about alpine elements floating around on the web. A particulat favourite of theirs is to sell a holiday as a mtb or ski holiday advertising lift accessed riding when the dates of the holiday are outside the dates that the resort runs its lifts without informing the client of the fact. This shouldn't affect you but it doesn't set a good impression and I would read everything 4 times before booking with them.

I have been with Alpine Elements they are totally fine. Although think the single room supplement is a bit steep. Other than that, they do what they say they will do.

I wouldn't use Alpine Elements ever again. Our trip in March to Les Arcs revealed a complete disregard for basic Health & Safety. Our 5 year old received an 8 stitch gash to his foot due to broken tiles in the swimming pool. The pool was not closed or repaired and no warning signs were put up. An electrical power point was faulty electrocuting two guests - the chalet host didn't report it because 'they won't do anything about it anyway'. We pointed out that 110v would kill a 4 or 5 year old - Alpine Elements wrote back explaining only if they tried to put something into the socket. Unbelievable. Be warned.
