Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

K2 Apache stryker 2007

I have ski'd on them 15 or so times and my bindings at the toe end can be moved a little from side to side with no boot in them. I have spoken to a few ski technicians and have been told ver y different stories. One techy told me these integrated binding systems tend to loosen up a little however this is quite normal and doesn't effect performance of ski or transfer of energy from boot to slope and allows for more flex in ski. Another techy said that this particular fault has been found in the recon's as well and there should be very little movement..... any ideas? Puzzled cheers kayt

kayt, yep that problem is common in many of the same generation K2's that use that binding interface, especially the Recon's & the Burnin Luv's. Earlier models were fine but when K2 did their normal 'value engineering' exercise to established popular models they really came up with a poor binding/ski interface that 'wobbled' from brand new. The following year they ditched that binding interface for a waaay tighter/stable version.

I've told customers of mine who have that model to take 'em to a K2 dealer & tell them the mounting system is a piece of $hit & not fit for purpose & you want them to send 'em back to K2 for an foc replacement. And all of them have received replacement latest model skis with no come back so K2 obviously know that system sucks.
