Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski season finally starts in Chile

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Following a weekend of heavy snow in the Andes, Chile’s ski resorts finally opened this week. Portillo, El Colorado, Valle Nevado, and La Parva resorts received about three feet of snow over the weekend. After expecting to open 2 weeks ago, this was a great relief....The resorts have had more than 10 million dollars worth of improvements this year, including new chairlifts and expanded terrain.
A total of 500,000 visitors are predicted this season, which they hope will extend to the second week of October.

I'm currently in Valle Nevado and can confirm a spectacular amount of snow on Saturday, so much that our transport up tghe mountain was stuck and we thought we would have to spend the night in the bus... probably at least a metre fell in 12 hours leading to a couple of days of amazing powder off piste with very few other people in the resort. The downside is that several of the lifts and half of the pistes are not yet ready and the ski area is therefore a bit limited.

There's a bit more info on PlanetSKI about South America with a great little video about skiing in Argentina.
