RPF, I have to admire your optimism. Tignes is looking depressingly green this week. i should have known better than to believe a j2ski snow forecast...
rich.ll, Good to know. But I might still pack clown makeup in case i need to make my skiing look like its on purpose. honk honk
rjs, 8 in the morning? double eek. Snow may be the only thing that gets me out of my bed early but it still doesn't make me fun to be around...
I'm looking forward to meeting my first snowheads. Please be gentle...

dinomartino, 8am isnt bad, especially if there fresh tracks to be had! The earliest my pickup began in Wanaka was 5.10am  45 minutes to the skifields gear up and the first 2/3 runs were normally still in the dark! We would boot up slowly on these mornings to give the sun a chance to rise slightly, the coaches would be out on the piste setting the course using their headtorches.
So Tignes is perfectly managable by comparison. You're lucky youre not race training, down to full suit (race suits are neither waterproof nor windproof) for hours before the public get lift access in high winds and obv freezing temps! Now that is not fun...

Does anyone know if they have the Atomic's Double Deck skis for testing we're coming out on the 9th of Dec and I've heard a lot about these ski's and would like to try them
