Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A few months back I completed a report on Oberlech on www.ineedsnow.com Got an email from Matt (the owner and snowhead) a month back confirming new pair of Fischer skis won and they have arrived today Very Happy Very Happy . Well pleased as I was just back from the accountant and was told how much my tax bill was Sad . Actually giving the wife the skis as her's are a bit done but biggest prize I've ever won

I've used the website a few times and it really is excellent. He has also given me some good prices on some hotels for next year.

I once won a Pirelli Calendar book in the rugby club raffle.

I won a weekend for two skiing in Chamonix, from the Daily Mail Ski Magazine. It included being photographed by a top ski photographer (but it was very low visibility that day) and skiing with the then womens' Extreme ski Champion - Vaila Macdonald (she had just done her knee in, doing a jump for a photograph, so that didn't happen).

Edit: I don't tend to go in for competitions if there is no skill involved - this one was for writing about skiing so I felt I had a reasonable chance.

I've had two ski related prizes in the past. I won a trip to Canada (Jasper, Lake Louise & Banff) with DM S&S magazine, and then the following year, I won a pair of Atomic C9 Puls skis (including bindings) from the ifyouski website.

I've been using those skis for my last 4 ski trips now.
