Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

FIS launches SnowKidz as part of 'Bring Children to the Snow' Campaign

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
In November 2008, the FIS Council decided to start a campaign called 'Bring Children to the Snow'. Now, they have developed the FIS SnowKidz, super heroes who "take care of children and youngsters anywhere in the snow, all around the world." The plan is that these super heroes will have a positive effect and help reduce fears, anxieties or obstacles in children's minds connected with snow or snow activities. ...See: http://www.fis-snowkidz.com/

I like the idea of the free lift passes up to age 10 and susidised until age 14 or whatever ages they said.

Most French resorts charge full price from 13 so it would be a big change for them. Switzerland certainly has good deals for kids, not sure about others.

I thought having a "colouring" download for the older children was a bit uninteresting. Surely some screen saver, backgrounds or a ski/boarding game or two could be found ? I like the idea though.

Great idea, hope most of the resorts join soon! Lots of friends always complain about cost of taking children with. This will really help convince them.

Agreed...my daughter isn't 6 yet. Sure, she would enjoy coloring the downloads with her crayons (if I bothered to print the download), but I think she would be more turned on (& entertained for much longer) by the online coloring and other games like you find at pbskids.org.

Hopefully the campaign gathers a bit of momentum and resorts get on board (and put aside short term concerns re reduced lift pass revenues from kids). There also needs to be a message to parents that a skiing holiday with young children doesn't have to be an expensive hassle.

Maybe the campaing should stretch to convincing schools to release more kids for skiing!
