Been in St Anton / Lech past weeknd (19-21) and the snow quality on piste was still quite good, although some fresh snow would be welcome.
Forecasts are not favorable for the moment though...

which forecasts are you looking at? The wigglies are hinting towards a cool down and more snow at the end of this week.....

Last Thursday there was an Avalanche . 53 yr old Innsbruck Lady (who now lives in South Africa) . After the alarm was raised rescue services found her set in concrete with a very low body temperature. She survived after treatment .

stanton, if I read the wigglies correctly it looks like a decent cold snap at least until 6/7th April, do any local folk/forecasts concur???

Last Sunday night we had a fantastic dump over 30cms, some of/if not the best powder skiing of the season with very few folk tearing it up!
It snowed also last night left a few cms on this hill !!
Alot of the mountain bars are closed now. Mooserwirt will carry on.
Also a lot of places in town have packed up for the season.
Great skiing to be had early on North Facing slopes in Stuben. Zurs is awesome as well.

The lifts run until 25.04. I've been there on the last day a few times. Quite strange, like a ghost town but still with excellent skiing!

out of interest is snow normally 'ok' 2nd week of April? we've just come back from a lovely week based in Stuben and are considering returning next year at a similiar time.
Snow low down in St Anton was slushy post 11am, but we still had the usual April mix of fresh, sun, slush and hard snow!

Great video stanton, looks like some seriously shattered folk at the finish line...
Any update on Projekt Dias Rendl? Is it still looking like it will slip into 2011/12 or 2012/13? Is it a money issue or is there still no full agreement on the proposal?

But the landscapes of dolomites are more stunning than that of Arlberg... But dolomites have less fresh snow
