Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

markandjayne, there are a couple of 1950 owners on here, but not sure if they rent them out, have you tried booking through Erna Low?

markandjayne, I would give them a ring, they probably do, but just haven't got them online. Lots of the apartments are leaseback so may not be available from the owners. I assume you have looked on Chalets Direct, Holiday Lettings and Owners Direct?

markandjayne, I booked direct with Radisson via the official Arc 1950 site on 30 June last year (for 12th - 17th January 09), although from memory I don't think Erna Low would have been much/any more expensive than booking direct with Radisson if it hadn't been for the fact that we were booking for part of a week. They may even have been cheaper for a whole week, I can't remember.

markandjayne,

1950 prices aren't 'officially' announced yet, although I expect them to come out fairly soon - I know they have been prepared. . Can you go a week earlier, or are you constrained by 1/2 term? Easter week (3 - 10th April) is also high season, but about 10% cheaper if that is an option.

Best options as above: either direct or through Erna Low - there are owners who rent themselves, as Helen B says, but they are private deals, and are likely to be already in the pipeline with 'repeat' business. Most of us are on leasebacks through Radisson/Intrawest

As Jim says not many owners rent direct. However I've seen the odd advert on owners direct.

Presume that you have checked out prices with the big TO (Crystal, Thomson etc). The 2009-10 brochures list 1950 accomodation & I wonder whether their purchasing power translates into lower prices than if booking direct with Radisson?

 You know it makes sense.

markandjayne, Hi - it's highly unlikely that prices for this very peak week will come down, as demand usually outstrips supply - New Year and half term week really do sell themselves (if I could clone some of the properties...... Very Happy ). If you only want Arc 1950 and can only go in that week, it may be a case of finding something that ticks most boxes and having to go with whatever prices are being asked Sad

markandjayne, As has been said I think you will find 1950 sells out in the peak weeks. Others might disagree but I would probably try and avoid 1950 in that week, we have been in 1800 for half term week for the last two years and have had friends staying in 1950. The infrastructure does seem to struggle to cope in peak times particularly in the hire shop, ski lesson and restaurant areas, we went over last year to join are friends for a meal and ended up eating at 11.30pm (table booked for 9.30) the second time we could not even book anywhere.
