Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Try Braemar Mountain Sports @ 01339 741242, they might have them or know where you can get a pair.

Hi all tourers. Posted the above in May, its now nearly November and I have a nice pair of Atomic flats and I'm looking for bindings, so need to get cracking. Anyone have a set of Vertical TLT to sell new or used?

dickyb, I think you'll have to stump up for a new set,, Telemark Pyrenees have them.

might be worth checking ebay.de but second hand sets still seem to go for pretty high prices

ellis brigham in Kensington will stock some dynafit bindings. I'm planning to get mine there because the price is about the same as telemark-pyrenees/sport-conrad plus you don't have to pay postage and there is some prospect that they will mount them for free

if you want to be my guinea pig on that theory i would be much obliged wink

I've been speaking to Decathlon. They may be getting some in. It could be worth giving them a call. If that fails I am going to EB in Kensington.

What is the consensus on brakes vs. leashes for use w/Dynafits? I am about to remove my hated Naxo NX21s from my touring skis and replace them with something that isn't completely fcuking useless.

I'm thinking positives on the leashes = more security on glaciers and less likeliehood of losing a ski in general. Negatives = much more chance of falling on a ski (I already have an eight inch scar on my side from this) and remaining attached to your skis in an avalanche.

What conclusions did others come to on this one?

Gorilla, I had leashes on some old Fritschi touring bindings and it was a PITA taking off and putting on vs brakes. Also, you have to be careful they don't run off when you put them down.

FlyingStantoni, and ski, Thanks, good sites. Arno Ellis Brigham is just down the road so will check them too, and if they do mount them that will save me a wee headache. If Decathlon sell them they could be well priced so I will look into all those routes.

Looks like there is a Vertical FT model with base plate I havent seen before:

Anyone have any experience with this chappie? How would it compare with the ST?

dickyb, it's the 12 DIN version, that 'base plate' is a piece of carbon that is meant to strengthen the setup. Some people remove it, none of the others have this... It's the same binder only higher DIN, possibly more bomber in otherways but I doubt it...

i've just ordered from sport-conrad, my ski and binding set-up

also telemark pyrenees seem to have about the the best price around for dynafit. my friend had much success getting specialist little bits for his skins so they seem pretty helpful.

or in the uk try:

Arno, no, I wear the helmet so I look the part in the bar afterwards.

Looks like it is going to be brakes and I am going to be spending more money than I intended.

Verticals £300, Speeds £235. 10% off with SkIClubGB voucher. Good value. I told them to get crampons in as well - maybe next year!

EB are doing good touring package deals too - eg Dynastar Exclusive Legend with Speeds £510, Verticals £575.
saving about £25. You need to pick up a catalog in the store.
