Poster: A snowHead

I was wondering if anybody has experience with the K2 public enemy as an all mountain ski. Most of the reviews I have read seem to review it's park performance. Mostly I ski groomed run and mogul runs but I want to start having fun in the park. Besides wanting to get into the park I am looking at these skis because it doesn't have an extreme side cut. My current skis are old 190cm straight skis. Thanks.

sirchris, you can use them on piste, but I wouldn't recommend them as a main ski. They are great in the park & good off-piste. Much as I regret saying this, you might be better with Pocket Rockets.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

i ski on 165 pocket rockets. absolutely fine on groomed - it takes a bit more work to get over onto the edge, but once there they'll hold a line with n worries
as for ice - let's just say I tried to avoid it I was usually able to find nice piles of soft snow that all the turns had pushed to the sides of the pistes

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

i have a pair of PE's and a pair of volkl 5*'s - if i had to choose one pair, it would be the PE's. They offer great performance in the soft stuff - in my experience better than specialist park skis, and are soft enough to play around on. And when it comes to skiing home, while not quite upto the standards of the 5* they are great fun. I confess i havent tried Pocket Rockets, so can't comment on them, but have spent a lot o time last season on Rossignol B2's - as an all round ski i think they would be a very fine choice - my wife has a pair which i have been known to "borrow", even if they are a little short for me!

Has anybody skied Head Mad trix?....not the MOJO, which has a larger waist at 80mm
Their spec is made for this. Regret to say I have not tried them as the shop would not hire this year's stock in the conditions at the start of the week.
I eventually got m75's and loved them ( better than B2's, IMO) so I didn't get to go on the Mad trix..
The m 75 feels light enough to throw around and are used as a skier-cross ski so may also fit the bill

ski mom, he'd be better with a pair of 1080s or 720s. I think the PRs might be too much ski for someone so short/light.
(then again, the best description I ever heard for an all-mountain ski was "one that handles all the mountain equally badly")
Oh, and welcome to snowHeads!

Thank you it seems the 1080s are much more money are they shorter what makes them better?

ski mom, they are more specifically a park/piste ski, while the PRs have a bit more capabilities off-piste. They are also available in shorter lengths, as far as I remember.
Another ski brand worth looking at is Line.
(oh, and I think I mentioned elsewhere, if you ask the question on EpicSki.com you may get more answers from people in VT)
