Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Future of world's longest-surviving snowdome "in doubt"

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
The world's first snowdome was Mount Thebarton in Adelaide, Australia - a converted ice-rink. This has now been dismantled. The second - Ski Casablanca in Belgium - is now said to have an uncertain future.

This report from SkiRebel magazine.

Quote:
A notice on the centre’s website says, “The ski centre is closed during the summer for an indefinite period.”

Ski Casablanca's website:

Anyone skied at Ski Casablanca?

Wikipedia has a page on the world's snowdomes, which needs an update. Maybe the Red Jackets of Hemel Hempstead could perform the necessary edit:

I know that 'Snow Hunter' Patrick Thorne of Snow24.com, who operates from the Inverness area, also keeps a database of snowdomes around the world, for anyone interested.

Bizarre that they are building one in Wycombe, which a quick look at google maps tells me is not really that far from Hemel Hempsted. Is there really enough demand for that?

chrisb, agreed. Castleford is probably your nearest but that's still a fair old journey. I'm slap bang between Castleford and Tamworth, just over an hour away to each.

Hemel Hempsted and Wycombe really not that far away from Milton Keynes either. These southerners get everything.
