The tragic death of an English skier is being reported on Piste Hors....

The brief report states a 38 year old London woman has died in a couloir on Aiguille Rouge.
I am home for Easter and concerned for friends. Does anyone currently in Les Arcs / Tarentaise know what has happened or have any more information .... ?
Our sympathies with the dead womans family. What an absolute tragedy !

Made some enquires with the local Gendermerie, who have been very helpful and are intending to release a further statement sometime next week.
There are some indications that a Ski Club of Great Britain member may have been involved which will be very sad news if true.

We were skiing above Arc 2000 on Thursday afternoon and there was a lot of helicopter activity to and fro Aguille Rouge - guess all part of rescue attempt

this is terrible. I am worried for my friends- several being 38yr old women from London who ski off piste in Les Arcs...

I'm very sorry for your friend. It must have been awful to be involved in such an incident, I can understand why you ended your season after that. Hope it doesn't stop you repping with the club next season. Good luck.
