Get your kit now or next year, quality is going to take a massive hit while prices remain more or less the same.

Prices won't be the same next year. Most brands in the UK will be going up by 5%-25% (depending on the brand). I doubt if any will take the risk of de-specing their quality to save a few pounds.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There maybe a few snags in quality of materials and moreover quality control. Any product being Radically designed won't be seen until 2011/12, if at all.
marky, No prices will be the same, at least in Mainland europe next year. My point being that next years kit may offer better value for money than the subsequent 3.

Just received my 09/10 price list from my European suppliers which is effective from the 1st May & prices are up 10-25% for the reasons given by RPF. If you want tuning gear then buy this month.

red 27, depends how much margin there is in the product. In my line my distributor carried part of the cost for me over the last few months & I carried the rest. Neither of us can afford to do it any longer.

you'll find most goods will be the same.
the industry i work in has seen some prices rises from suppliers, but these are steadily being offset by cost cutting projects.
then teir one suppliers that i deal with as far as i can see are making the bigger compromises in quality.
Dont know how that will (if at all) translate to the ski gear industry.. But as far as i can see it's right through the supply chain..

No retailer wants to put prices up, unfortunately it is being forced by the suppliers whose prices have risen considerably, so 2 choices -higher prices or lower quality?
