Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Tignes/Val D'Isere will have over half of their runs open for the May Bank Hol weekend. We skied there in 06 & 07 that weekend and had fantastic conditions, with links open between the 2. We had deserted runs and powder first thing.

Last year we skiied Val Thorens and Chamonix that May Bank Hol weekend and had some excellent conditions - hardpack early on and some excellent soft bumps later in the day. At Grand Montets they had a special offer €20 lift ticket. Great value when compared with Xscape!! And they stay open until 10th May this year....

We are repeating last year's trip in a month's time and can't wait. It's great to end the season with a trip in May!

Each to their own - but I struggle to understand how any skier would recommend not going on a ski trip. If you haven't skied in May it's definitely worth giving it a go.

And if you don't fancy France, there's always 6 glaciers you could try in Austria if you can get a cheap flight to Munich.

Or Zermatt, or Saas Fee in Switzerland....

Right, have now booked it with Mountain Sun (thanks to kwakazx6r for spotting this one). Fly out Fri night and then ski Espace Killy Sat, Sun and Mon returning late Monday night. The only downside is that we were going to ski four days and fortunately I hadn't quite booked the flights (despite being told to go ahead) as the missus suddenly realised she had a "cannot miss" meeting on Friday. Never mind, 3 is better than none. Also hope the ankle holds out as had arthroscopy and tendon repair and the bone drilled (old footy injury) at the beginning of March. We were going to go next week but my physio blew her stack when I mentioned skiing 5 weeks after the operation ! Also will probably be made redundant next week from the bank I work for (and no, I won't be able to buy Courchevel with my pay-off) so it's a last treat for a bit.

Now, all I have to do is a) try and get my ski boot on my dodgy foot. b) cope with the waiting !

Samerberg Sue,

Just back from a long weekend in Stubai and the surrounding areas -great snow cover everywherE and it dumped just before we got there, so powder snow at the top. Spring snow lower down if you caught it right otherwise its breakable crust or avalanche debris.
