Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Some Nice Ski's on Ebay - right now!

Following on a little from the "Ebay Madness" thread where people seemed to pay a lot of money for poor-ish skis, have a look at these skis.

I've just bought a new pair of planks this year, but if I hadn't I'd be very tempted. This years ski, top class bindings and unused.

By the way, I have no connection to the skis or the seller, but if you get them for around £200 they're a gift.

Wonder what reserve has been put on them though - they're not going to go for £200.

Just to make you even greener, I got a pair of just those (in 184, the length I wanted, slightly used) off eBay for Eur 261 (Approx £190 ) a couple of weeks ago. Added Eur 341 for Fritschi Freeride bindings (touring bindings cost the earth - about £100 more than equivalent downhill only), harscheisen, mounting and shipping and ended up with a rather nice package for about £440 all in! snowHead snowHead snowHead

marc gledhill, just remembered it was you asking about Dynastar skis a couple of weeks back. What did you get in the end?

Well . . . they're asking 499.99 on their site. It'll be interesting how close to this price the final sale will be . . . Twisted Evil

Mmmm. I thought when they put a high-ish opening price in like £200 that they were looking at that as a minimum acceptable bid. Obviously not. Confused

GrahamN, in the end I was torn between a pair of last years Dynastar 74's which looked really nice in the shop, but I couldn't get to try them out, and (suprisingly for me) a pair of B2's which I did get to try, albeit at Castleford snow dome. I also tried quite a few other pairs of ski's and liked the Rossi's the best.

If I'd been buying off website and magazine reviews as I have in the past, then I don't think I'd have touched them. Just goes to show - you must try before you buy.

marc gledhill, as some others have said the B2s are clearly a love 'em or hate 'em ski. As they would appear to be one of the best selling skis there is, a fair few must love 'em. Loved my Bandit XXs, but they were a bit heavy (IIRC the B2 is about 20% lighter).

Well, I think that package on sale in La Tania at New Year was about Eur 720 (about £523), and is here for Eur 649 (about £470) - although Google's just turned up someone in Grenoble selling it for Eur 585 (£425), and another one in France for the same price. Seems to be pretty rare in the UK this year though.
