Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

shipping skis switzerland to UK - any recommendations

I've a new pair of skis in Switzerland I'd like to get back to me in the UK. Whilst I'd love to use them as an excuse for another ski trip, finances dictate otherwise. Can anyone recommend a good, safe & reasonably priced way of getting them back ?

Bribe a snowhead with spare luggage capacity, otherwise you might find ski trip is the cheaper option. Will the vendor not pack & ship?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If they get shipped to you from Switzerland, you may well get hit for import tax, etc. as well.

Happened to me with an avalanche transceiver which had been for repair. I already owned the fecking thing!

fatbob, the vendor is a retail outlet & it's all too complicated to get them to do the shipping, as for bribing a snowhead, that might be a later posting, depending on what this thread throws up !!
stevomcd, an alarming thought ! I've been toying with leaving them with a friend in switzerland until next season, even though they still need bindings which I had thought to get fitted here. If left there it'd make a perfect excuse for my 1st trip next year & mean I'd be bringing them back used !!
seriously bad luck about the transceiver though !
