Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Direct Travel are one of the best recommended.

As I said in response to one of the others, I am using JS Insurance (www.jsinsurance.co.uk) this year.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You have left it a bit late.

Important to find out what is covered, ski value? lost hire skis? Don't cover for europe (you use ehic instead)? Ambulance/piste recovery? Hire car breaks down and you miss the flight? Loss of earnings? 24 hour call centre in the UK? If your partner is injured on the last day are you covered to stay with them or do you have to take the flight home?

Matt_G, no problem with time, but landmannnn's questions are good ones to ask yourself/the agent. I'm with Direct Travel (annual policy) and it does me just fine. Can do it over the phone and you'll get the docs in the post probably the next day - and you can also get them emailed to you if you need them quicker. You can check out the policy details on the net.

Matt_G, landmannnn's questions are perfectly sensible, but the main thing is to get cover for evacuation off the slopes and medical treatment. Everything else is likely to be affordable if te worst comes to the worst (unless you're really unlucky and all your stuff is nicked, your flight is delayed by 3 days, you break your hire skis ... all on the same hol).
