Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Houches?... Prarion lift question

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hey snowHead

I'm sure someone local would know the answer...

I went to Cham last year and you could ski right the way down the mountain to the bottom of the Prarion lift in Les Houches. That was the end of feb and the snow near the bottom was starting to get thin... we're off to Cham again on saturday (the 21st). Will we still be able to ski right the way down? Or will there not be enough snow?

I've only stayed in les houches, but not skied it..but given the very warm weather there's been this week in Savoie / Haute Savoie then I think you'll be out of luck...

It needs good snow to be able to ski to bottom of Prarion. Done it a few times myself but this is only because we would go to ski Les Houches when we could see the runs were complete from the road. If snow is bad we would drive to St Gervais/Megeve, Les Contamines, Flaines, Les Gets etc. I would hold my breath for mid March. Upper area should be OK though.

Bear in mind too that the Les Houches lifts are not on the ordinary Chamonix pass this year.

avalon42, yes, you can.

beequin, not sure what you mean by ordinary, but as of about 10 days ago LHs lifts are now back on the "Mont Blanc Unlimited" pass. No idea whether you need to get it validated anywhere...worth checking.

bertie bassett, saikee, this year's bumper snowfall and early season cold temps have meant that there's at least reasonable cover all the way down.

David Murdoch, thanks.

It's great to know you can, i find it really satisfying being able to ski right down to the bottom and not having to get a bubble back down!

David Murdoch, Are you sure? The other thread running on this subject reckons there is still some doubt. Have you tried it yet? I was thinking of going at the weekend.

midgetbiker, no, not sure. Some confusion. CMB says, "yes" (per Chamonet News), SEPP says "No, it's my ball and you can't play with it".
