Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

recommend me a fat all mountain ski

Oh font of all knowledge that is snowheads.......

I am looking for a reasonably fat all-mountain ski. Not ridiculously heavy as they will be mounted with touring (rando) bindings to allow access to more untracked snow (probably Dynafit TLT's).

I currently ski some Rossignol bandit B3's (green ones) in a 176 length. I have been skiing for a long time (15+ years) and am fit, but not too tall (5ft 6ins / 166cm) or heavy (145 lbs/65 kg) so I don't get on with skis that are stiff.

Any suggestions? I am thinking something like a K2 appache Coomba in a 167.

Many thanks!

When are you buying? Looks like next year's K2 line will change significantly. There may be different options if you are prepared to wait. People appear to like the Sidestash. Otherwise plenty of people seem to like the Coomba.

Is the Coomba next year going tip-rocker anti-piste style? I was under the impression it was but I may be completely off the mark.

Thanks all. Was hoping to pick up a late season bargain this year. Are 178's not too long for me? I would have thought something a little shorter than I normally ski....

I've a pair of these http://kingswoodskis.com/home/skis-archetype & have nothing but praise for them. They're relatively light too cause of the bamboo core. However round these parts folks would probably call them super fat.

kwakazx6r, I tried to find them on the internet but I failed, don't have the energy for the extensive search. They are out there, some retailers are offering a limited selection of them already. K2 have gone the wrong direction with the top sheet designs IMO.

waljit, I'm 5'7, 68 kgs and would use the 181 cm for skiing fast in powder but the 174 may be better length for you as an all round ski.

Can't help but agree with frank4short. Don't carve as well as my RC4's but as an all round ski = awesome!
