When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

K2 Crossfire of X-wing

Hi,

I'm looking for new skis and I have narrowed the choice already down to 2 skis, the K2 Apache Crossfire and the Salomon X-wing 10. I'm an experienced skier (not an expert), I ski 80% on piste and 20% off. When on the piste I ski fast and with power. Like short and long turns.

What ski of the above mentioned would suit me best ? Anyone has any experience with both ? Input very much appreciated.

Hello gjp, welcome to snowHead s.

What's your height and weight? I'm er... compact, and generally find Salomon a bit too soft although I haven't skied the X-wings. Crossfires are fun though. Have you tried Atomic SX's at all? I've also enjoyed these a lot for carving, used to be my standard piste ski against which all others are measured.
