Hi Guys
I just visited my local snow and rock and realised that they had severely reduced some products by upto 60%!
I asked and apparently the sale starts later this week but they are willing to sell at the sale price now!
I've just bagged myself some scott punishers at £179!!

Sideshow_Bob, had a quick look on the way home. Some good deals on skis with mostly 30% or 40% off - not a great amount of stock but had some BC Navis and K2 Apache Explorers amoungt others. No Mantras though so wasn't too tempted.
The men's jackets were just having the discount tags put on when I was there. The women's ones were mostly 20% or 30% reduced, so good savings if there's something you want. They had a reasonable selection of jackets from what I could see - it didn't look to be a drag-out-the-old-rubbish kind of sale - although I've got a new jacket so didn't examine them particularly closely.

Popped into the Surrey store in Chertsey at about 4 this afternoon and no sale to be seen I'm afraid. I inquired and the lady did say they might be selling off last season's stuff; however there's nothing there just yet.

whatever the ticket says find the manager and make him an offer - word in the pub says that outdoor retailers that specialise in rock and snow type sports are very very keen to exchange stock for cash - any cash...

When I was in Chertsey around mid-november I overheard one staff member saying to another that they were totally overstocked on jackets...I can't imagine that they've had as much sales volume as previous seasons either...

The online sale has started! Wasnt looking for skis cos i've just got a new pair but got a osprey switch 16 daypack for £25 down from £60 so i'm happy

I suspect ski shops will have a lot of stuff that they cannot sell due to economic conditions. Customer will be king. If one lot cannot do a deal another will.
Same applies to many retailers. I have not looked in Holborn S&R yet. I will do so a bit later today.

beequin, I think those small discounts are just the reductions from the fall in VAT. Hopefully the sale prices will be much less. Am hoping to pick up some new gear

Holborn had up to 60% off. Notably on green Eider jackets rrp £300. Other colour was 50% off. 20% off Spyder.
Downstairs 30% off boots. Not many skis on the racks. They were still to price them up according to the assistant. Black Crow were on display.
Nothing off ice breaker thermals which I would have actually bought.

I've just bought a pair of new skis from them online. They were £105 quid cheaper. Not bad.
Although I did wait to buy them before posting. It's been on for a wee while now.
