Spyderman, I'd kind of agree with you that learn in a day is poss not so good. However the 3 hour Level 1&2 and 3hour Level 3&4 FastTracks on separate days work pretty well for most people, for what they are. Learn to ski in a day does cater to a market though - people who come from a way away and want to get it sorted with just one day off, so's to "waste" as little of their holiday learning the basics as poss. It may not be good for their technique in the long term but that's an obvious trade off. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that they'd have a more solid grounding with a top tier instructor like easiski doing one-to-one or small group teaching spread out over a couple of days in the moutains. It's all about managing expectations.

Quick question.... Do you wear normal ski gear for dry slopes? or just jeans etc? I hear it's really painful if you fall on dry slopes?

streaky, the H&S rules of dry slopes state that you will have to wear long sleeves, trousers and gloves. What else you wear depends on the weather. Don't wear your normal ski gear as it can get a bit battered if you fall over. Tracksuit bottoms are a good idea, and a coat if it's raining.

streaky, If I'm 'free skiing' I'll be in bootleg jeans and a hoody. As beanie1, says, Gloves and long sleeves are a must.

Thanks for the advice. I might give dry slopes a go this year as the lessons are cheaper than at the Hemel centre and closer to me also.

streaky, if you do try to get a recommendation for an instructor, as at some slopes (indoor and out) they can be a bit hit and miss.

Does the Aldershot club have a website? How would I get in touch with some of the club members? I'm relatively close by, I might come down for some training. I'd really like to continue my own dry slope skiing training, it's a brilliant way to learn and improve.
