Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Weather has wiped out this year's Hahnenkamm at Kitzbuhel. The biggest downhill of the circuit has succumbed to a snowstorm. Following a unanimous jury decision to cancel the race, International Ski Federation race director Günther Hujara explained : "The weather situation makes a race impossible for safety reasons". It's understood that wet snow made preparation of the piste - particularly the lower area of the Streif - impossible. "Up to 400 men made a fantastic job the whole night, but the safety risk is simply too large", said Hujara.

The prospects for Kitzbuhel's (already postponed from Friday) super G and slalom now look shaky too. The show has to close, with the racers on the road again, by Monday. Let's hope they salvage some good racing, for all the enormous effort. Updates from snowRacers.net.
