Hope someone can help I have a pair of skis which I bought last year they have only been skied on for one week but would benifit from a wax and tune. I would be interested in learning how to do this myself at some point but what i wanted to know is there anywhere in the southeast of England who does ski servicing I know about snow and rock and the likes but all they want to do is grind away my skis on a machine I was hoping to find someone to do it by hand and let the wax soak in before scraping it off. Doing a decent job not just taking my money. There is a chap in Nottingham who obviously does a great job and runs courses but I live in Berkshire and was hoping for someone alittle more local. All help greatfully recieved

vetski, I don't know about in London, but Battlesbridge is a direct hop out from Liverpool Street and is within walking distance of Skee-Tex who I know have all the gear and who I haven't heard bad about yet.

davehk, Another vote for Europa Ski Lodge. They do not seem to change staff every year which gives me more confidence in them.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

andyoxon, vetski, if you are interested in doing the job yourselves and getting the necessary tools, I'm happy to show you what to do.

Vetski, Finches in Forest Hill, London SE23 are very good, easy journey on the train from London Bridge.

You know it makes sense.

radar, thanks for that...getting self plus skis to London Bridge, however, is not easy! Hmm, will search online, maybe test a couple of services, and report back.

andyoxon, I've used these people - http://www.47degrees.com/products/ - who were recommended on here, I think by spyderjon. They were good about dissuading me from having anything unnecessary/expensive done.

Yes, though Jonathan who was their tech from at least 1986 when I first went to them has moved on this season and Jasper has taken over and did a good job of fitting my new boots (just one small tweak needed now).
