Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Icy waters and rocks of Val d'Isere claim life of another young British skier

 Poster: A snowHead

Several weeks after the dangerous River Isere in Val d'Isere took the life of 20-year-old student Rachel Ward, a 21-year-old male British skier has apparently been killed by the rocks and icy waters of the Calabourdanne river which feeds it from the Manchet/Charvet valleys.

It seems that the - as yet unnamed - skier was skiing off-piste, lost control or sight of the river ahead and shot into the water, injuring himself on the rocks. The incident happened last Friday at approximately 4pm. ... It seems that he was skiing into the Manchet valley (or possibly variants of the the Epaule du Charvet or Santons pistes) and ended up in the river. Local police and the mountain rescue service of Bourg St Maurice have concluded from his tracks that he was skiing at high speed. Another skier alerted staff at the Clochetons restaurant, who mounted a rescue. The skier (who lives in Redhill, Surrey) was rushed to Grenoble by helicopter, was quickly identified by police, but had knocked himself out and was seriously injured. He was already in a "very critical" state on arrival at the hospital.

This report from Alexandra Williams in Chamonix for Telegraph.co.uk.

Does anyone local have further information on this accident?

'The Last Photo' of Patrick Evans, taken on the slopes above Val d'Isere, with a further report on his accident from DailyMail.co.uk

From this report it seems that his poor family actually discovered him, because they were skiing behind him. Maybe they then alerted the restaurant to help them.
