Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What with ecommerce, sponsorships, donations, subscriptions etc. what is the ultimate goal for Snowheads, its founder(s) and official helpers?
Is it ski world domination or simply to remain a good place to hang out? Note - I do not mind if it's the former provided it retains the latter.

I'm also curious as to the maintenance aspect of the site. I can spend hours in hear and I don't contribute a great deal. So what about those who contribute and run this magic wee place, what does it take?

Boardski, good questions and it will be interesting to see Admin's response. In the early days, certainly it was very much his baby as far as control, policy and strategy were concerned. With voluntary assistance for moderation, some backroom development work, etc. etc... Posters have also come up with ideas from time to time via the Suggestions & Requests forum.

Now we are an established community of > 1700 registered members will snowHeads become more of a club? Or a company? Or whatever? It remains Admin's 'shout' of course, but if he has any new views one year on for the future control and direction of snowHeads, it would be interesting to know them.  Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

As a moderator Boardski, I pretty much do the same as you, spend hours in here, and not contribute a great deal. Some of the other guys do far more, as do many of our contributors. The main duties of a Mod are to try and damp things down when they get too heated, stop the links to pornographic sites, and encourage our more commercial minded contributors to go through the correct channels. For me being a Mod on this site is good fun as well.

I can't speak for our mighty leader, but it has also seemed to me that one of the great things about snowHeads is that it is evolving in a very organic fashion, and we tend to go where it leads us, rather than the other way around.
