Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skier sets new ski lift world record

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A German skier has apparently set a new world record for riding the most different ski lifts in the same day. Oliver Kern rode 70 different ski lifts in Austria’s SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental area, covered more than 22,000 vertical metres, and over 120 kilometres of runs. ...See: http://www.ultimate-ski.com/News/Skier_Sets_New_Ski_Lift_World_Record.html

70 lifts in one day ? Not exactly my idea of fun Puzzled

Sure can see him in the Snug boasting to his mates about it rolling eyes

"70 you say ? Here, let me buy you a pint !"

Preffered his other records.. They seem much more of an achievement Very Happy

Just confirms my opinion of the Ski Welt: Loads of annoyingly short and not in any way difficult runs. I would imagine that the biggest obstacle for him would have been the hordes of Dutch beginners clogging the pistes!

Steilhang,

I really enjoyed the Ski Welt. We stayed in Soll and skied to a different village every day for lunch. On the final day we made it to Going. Prob not that much advanced stuff as you say, but a lovely area all the same.

johnboy, Havn't been there for many years ( at least 15 ) , so maybe things have improved. If I'm in the area I always drive the extra couple of miles and ski in Kitzbühel, or sometimes Westendorf. They just seem to do it better for me!

Steilhang, just back - half term holidays made most other places unbearable - Ski Welt fine and you obviously have not been there for long time as Westendorf is now linked in as of this year...

22k vertical metres looks improbable. presumably includes up as well as down.
