Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hey Very Happy

Me and my fella (total ski novices!) have just booked New Year IN Passo Tonale. We're staying at the Dahu Apartments and are self catering. Has anyhone been there who could give us some advice/tips for the resort or the apartments? We're dead excited and were desperate to try something new and skiing's it!!

Thanks!

Hi Lisa,

I went to Passo Tonale in March 2006. It's quite a small resort along a busy main road. But that's about the only downside. It's a friendly resort and there are lots of easy slopes for beginners. It's also very good value for money. If I remember rightly the Dahu apartments are off the main road and the main lifts are right behind. For self-catering there is a small Spar supermarket and a few restaurants. I think some of the hotel restaurants are open to the public too...

You'll have a great time... Very Happy

aww thanks for replying - im really excited. We spent three hours in the travel agents yesterday looking at all the places we could try. I really hope we take to it cos theres so many gorgeous places to visit. I know that Passo Tonale doesn't look the most beautiful place in the world but it sounds perfect for two complete beginners to the skiing world. Especially cos we're going over new year as well im hoping there'll be plenty going on too. If anyone has any piccies of this place that would be good too! Smile

BwfcAngel - we learnt to ski in Passo Tonale 3 years ago and absolutely loved it. If you are going with either Thomson or Crystal thy have a very good (and cheap) learn to ski package which includes ski pass, lessons and ski and boot hire. Lessons usually take place in the mornings which leaves the afternoons free to practice what you learnt.

If you are in apartments, I would recommend the restaurant in the La Torreta Hotel which serves superb pizzas. Its located at the bottom of the slopes near where the ski school meets.

BTW, liking the user name - Come On You Whites!
