Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ok... so I see everyones point, but would it differ from brand to brand. I mean Stockli for example are so bloody expensive and pride themselves on there handmade blah blah.... compare that to a base Rossignol made in thousands and thousands and surely it's not all doom and gloon for new ski preperation?

Yes I can see more wax the better but it's not like they stick to the snow first up is it?!

Do you mean vices? I don't use vices whilst I'm away as having never being away for more than two weeks I've not needed to wax my skis. I do edge work in resort with the ski held vertical against the corner of a wall etc.

bladebasher, you should definitely wax them. And check the edges ideally.

Yeah sorry. I'm meant vices. What you said tells the story in itself in that your skis last 14 days without a wax !! Mine would never as they just don't get that attention. I'm really annoyed about this but just seem to be so short on time that I haven't got round to (a) buying the gear and (b) getting the training again. I did it when I did my BASI years ago but it's a distant memory and I lost all my kit in a house move.

My new skis only arrive the day before I go so i'm a bit screwed then Sad Or maybe I should get some gear from you and then wax them to within an inch of their life the night before !? Also they won't have bindings mounted, but that shouldn't make a difference to waxing them. Just want to make sure I dont mess them up. I was always rubbish at edges but as they are new I need not touch them?

If you don't have the time before you go you could always buy some Zardoz Notwax for the holiday and get them serviced when you come back Shocked

Movement wax/service their ski's before you buy them, therefore it does differ....
