Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Salomon Optima ski boots. Your opinion and advice

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

I bought a pair of Salomon Optima Ski boots of the charity shop a couple of years ago Smile

Just took it out of the attic as I'm going skiing in March.

Don't know much about the boots.

It says on the boot :
L= 299mm 320-323
On the front of the boots on toes there is small label with numbers: 325/25.5
On the side of the boots there is: 8.2X Expert (what does it mean?)

Now from what I know my mondo size is 25.5 (UK size 6). This are my own calculations Smile
I am intermediate skier.

They seem to fit well but I appreciate it's hard to tell.

Can you tell me do you think of this boots, are they any good for me ? Smile

They seem to have a bit of wear on the soles but I think nothing to serious.

I take a UK size 6/7 and just had new ski boots fitted by an expert - who put me in boots mondo size 24. My old ones were 25 but he said they were too big.

I've just tried them on and from what I read on the net, the toes suppose to touch the front of the boots.
Well my toes do not feel the front so I guess the boots are to big:(?

Also the heel is sliding up and down when I try to rise my foot on toes.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

nemeziss, the toes should just touch the front when you stand up straight, so that when you flex your ankles down, they come away a bit (this is with a thin pair of socks on). And, once in that flexed position, the heels should not lift (they'll always tend to budge a bit when you bend your ankle the other way, but you don't ski that way).
