Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

As Fasching is fast approaching, I was wondering if any Very Happy heads are planning joining in with the custom of skiing in fancy dress?

I'm afraid that most snowHeads take a very dim view of such goings on. This modern predilection for dressing up in the opposite sexes clothing for such spurious excuses as charity events, fund raising, bed races etc is truly sickening. The only excuse for such devient behaviour is traditionally being either spanked by nanny or being taken up the rear by a large dildo sported by a female member of the young conservatives.

Yours digusted,

Tunbridge Wells.

The 'Jamaican bobsleigh team' kidnapped me and force fed me beer while they pushed me round in their bob!! It was all done according to the best H&S rules though - a team of nurses were doing the pouring.
I knew the hangover was bad the next morning when the Grim Reaper overtook me on his snowboard.

No, not especially Fashing. What's the point of dressing up to ski or do anything else? I don't get fancy dress at all. It's a rhetorical question, I don't expect anyone to actually explain why dressing up as a superhero or a vicar or a nurse is so frightfully funny, and I know I'm in a minority in regarding fancy dress as a total and inexplicable waste of time, money and effort.

This year's Fasching ends on Tuesday, 24th February and although it started on 11th November last year, most of the fun (particularly on the slopes) takes place in the last few days in February. In some places, e.g. Spitzingsee near Munich - Firstalmfasching, see e.g. http://www.toytowngermany.com/lofi/index.php/t58213.html, there are traditional events with many folk dressed up and (at Spitzingsee) races of crazily designed sledges.

The Fasching (or Carnival) business is taken seriously in Germany, especially along the Rhine where it is celebrated with many boozy evenings and strange customs. All very difficult for us Calvinistic Scots to understand rolling eyes
