Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Snowboard upkeep

 Poster: A snowHead

Now I am back and yearning to go back to the slopes, I must console myself by spending some quality time with my board.

What do people do with the dinks on the top sheet edges of their board? You know the ones I mean - the ones caused by idiot skiers in queues gently slicing up the edges of your board.

I have two types of damage - small slices with a little of top sheet sliced away, maybe with small amount still attached to the board. Secondly, I have one large gash that goes through the first sheet and reveals a little of the sheet below (but not the wooden core).

It is the later that I am unsure whether to repair and if so how. Any advice?

Cheers

croskemj, for the slices that go through tot he wood, Araldite is brilliant. You can basically build up filler bit by bit to have a totally flush epair without it looking like an abortion.

As for the other dinks, I jus put a thin layer of Araldite over them o seal them. It won't win you any beauty contess but what the hell!! Smile

Cheers Specialman, got some Araldite today and will try it out hopefully over the weekend.

Do you bother to put some sort of lacquer over the top? If so what do you use?

Thankyou DebbiDoesSnow, . Its all part and parcel of the process - top, base and edges. Something to keep me out of trouble until off next which may be to Solden in a couple of weeks.
